Vacant position: Nordic Business Development Manager

As the Nordic Business Development Manager in PPG Scandinavia you will be driving business development in the entire Nordic region through body shop consultancy.

The primary focus is on Business Solutions consultancy where the focus is on using KPI analysis and LEAN methodology to help the body shops improve their profitability and productivity. 

The secondary focus is in the area of Sustainability, helping the body shop become more sustainably in the way they perform the repairs and use the products.

In both areas of consultancy, it is key to deliver input and analysis that contribute to ensuring that the major customers in the Nordic region run as efficiently as possible.

A third part of the job consists in fulfilling the role as VisualizID and PPG LINQ super user for the Nordics and leverage those skills to contribute to the business development through implementation of the latest digital tools at customer level. In addtion, the position also has business development through contact with the nordic OEM’s as part of the scope. 


We do not expect you to know LEAN methodology or Refinish IT solutions beforehand as there will be extensive training and internal support. The most important thing is that you have great interest in the car refinsh trade and process optimzation and find the onging digitalization of the industry interesting.

When working for PPG Scandinavia, you will be part of a great big global PPG of more than 50.000 colleagues worldwide who are dedicated to produce and sell paint and coatings that protect and beautify the world. In PPG Scandinavia we are more than 45 employees within sales, marketing, technical support, logistics and operating in all of the Scandinavian countries as well as Estonia and Iceland. We service the car refinish industry as well as the market for light industrial coatings.


This position will be a mixture of office based tasks and optimization projects in paint shops in the Nordic region. Depending on where you live, you can be attached to one of our offices in either the Västerås or Borås. You will be reporting to the Nordic Marketing Manager. 


Key Responsibilities

LEAN and MVP Consultancy
•    Be the Nordic LEAN expert capable of conducting managerial and operator process optimization trainings in paint shops across the Nordic countries
•    Be the body shop optimization consultancy expert in the Nordics and super user in  the entire MVP business optimization tool box
•    Train and coach the local sales and technical teams, key customers and distributors with special focus on KPI driven business optimization
•    Work with the Nordic Management team to define local plans and customer targets to deliver increased competitiveness and customer loyalty

Sustainability consultancy
•    Be the sustainability consultancy expert that performs consultancy the helps the body shops work more sustainably in the way use the products and the perform the repairs
•    Be able to deliver energy audits and perform consultancy on shop level as to how they can reduce energy consumption for the benefit of both profitability and sustainability

PPG LINQ tools superuser
•    Be the PPG LINQ Tools expert in the Nordics and thereby superuser in the PPG VisualizID software and all the future tools under the PPG LINQ umbrella
•    In cooperation with the EMEA Digital Solutions Manager ensure the digital ecosystem adoption within the various countries of the region assigned

OEM Business Development 
•    Be the contact between PPG and industry organizations such as SFVF & MRF as well as the OEM owned dealerships
•    Participate in OEM meetings, handle product approvals for future color approvals
•    Be the main contact person for all influencers in the Nordic market


•    It would be a clear advantage, but is not a requirement, if you have a background within the automotive industry/car painting
•    Experience with LEAN optimzation is an advantage, but not a requirement
•    Structured and solution-oriented approach to all tasks
•    Fluent in one of the Nordic languages as well as high-level in English 
•    Good presentation and communication skills
•    Ability to plan and structure you own work week with a high degree of self-reliance
•    Willingness to travel within the Nordic region
